What is the cost, time and do I need a HETAS Installer?
A Stove Installation in the average home for a Stove that costs around £1,500, will have varying factors that effect the cost, such as the Chamber and Hearth design and the length of Liner required to line the Chimney, or Flue system if there is no Chimney.
The prices generally range between £4,000 to £6,000. This can be gaged much more accurately by a home visit to discuss the possibilities. Finance option available through Phoenix Financial Consultants Limited.
Once the Stove is installed, the maintenance is minimal. One or two Sweeps per year, and replacement of consumable parts such as Rope and Bricks which degrade over time. They are not covered by the manufacturers Warranty, but are inexpensive to replace.
Do I need to use a HETAS Installer?
No, in Scotland it is not a legal requirement to use a HETAS installer, and you can still register your Stove for the full Warranty by using N/A Scotland when filling out the form. We are happy to register your stove for you, and some brands this happens as part of the installation process via a QR Code to ScanTag.
Hetas is a Private Company who offer certification, and not a Governing body. It offers a 3 day course which allows anyone who passes to fit stoves. Unfortunately this does not guarantee quality and safe guard you from a poor installation.
How long does it take to install a Stove?
Most Installations take 1 day. If having a False Chimney Breast installed, this will take two days. Occasionally unforeseen complications lead to an installation taking longer, but these will always be discussed in detail so you are fully informed and give full consent as the work moves forwards.
